Pineywoods Beekeepers Association

Texas Beekeepers Association

Texas Beekeepers Association was formed in 1880 to provide an environment where established beekeepers could meet and share methods and experiences, while learning new techniques and discovering new research. It’s focus, then and now, is about the honey bee, it’s survival and management.
Over the years the Texas Beekeepers Association has developed to embrace beekeepers of all kinds. Commercial beekeepers with over 300 hives, Sideliners with up to 300 colonies and the small scale beekeeper with up to 25. This, as well as the new beekeeper who wishes to keep a hive of honey bees in his back yard. Everyone who cares about the plight of the honey bee and who understands the great need to preserve this master pollinator is welcome to join our Association.

Our Association’s Mission is first dedicated to honey bee educationincluding all the different facts about and pleasures of keeping these wonderful creatures of God. Secondly, we are dedicated to the mission of service to others through internal mentoring and education of our club members as well as external programs to the general public. It is to these two missions we commit our combined efforts as an association to place into others, by mentoring, education, and apprenticeship, our love and passion for beekeeping. Our membership offers to all the much-needed experience that even beginners can have - the pleasure and joy we have personally each time we visit a beehive.

Fruit

Serenity Acres Apiary have added to the current pear and fig trees already on the property. There are now pear, fig, apple, peach, nectarine, cherry, plum, almond, apricot, walnut, lemon, lime, and avocado trees!

We also have black berry bushes and strawberries  - we're working on blue berries.

While these fruits are all delicious on their own, C.J. and Trevor will convert some to jellies, jams, and applesauce. There will also be canned halves of some of the fruits.

Vegetables, Herbs, and Spices

When we build our greenhouse, we plan to have all sorts of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices.

This one is in the works, and will take some time to come to fruition.

Some of the various vegetables will be green  beans, zucchini, yellow squash, roma tomatoes, cucumbers, and green onions.

Some of the herbs and spices planned will be lavender, sage, lemon grass, spearmint, peppermint, catnip, rosemary, and many more!

As for the fruits in the greenhouse, there will be strawberries, cantaloupe, and a lemon and avocado tree.

We'll let you know when it's up and running, or pay attention to the blog - Journey to Fruitfulness.
