Hope’s Door New Beginning Center provides hope and healing to victims of domestic violence and their children. In 2017, their crisis advocates answered 5,855 calls to their emergency hotline and they had 573 adults and children in residence at their emergency shelters over the year. Once those individuals were ready to move to their own place they assisted 167 families through their transitional housing program. All clients, adults and children, are eligible for counseling and 1,499 adults and 963 children were seen last year. Additionally, their legal department assisted 589 survivors through the legal process with child custody, protective orders, restraining orders or divorce representation. They reached 31,653 community members through educational programming and outreach events, as well as providing 546 clients with BIPP services.
